Newcomers Encore Club was founded in the 1950s as a women's social organization to offer friendship through various activities. Today's club, with over 150 members is a vibrant group of women from all over the U.S. and abroad. Welcoming new and current residents to the Baton Rouge area by providing numerous activities to meet new friends and enjoy the company of existing friends.
The mission of Newcomers Encore Club of Baton Rouge is to provide friendship and fellowship for women in the Baton Rouge area, and to identify and support select charitable organizations through various social activities and projects within our community.
Newcomers Encore's premier monthly event is a luncheon featuring guest speakers and informative programming at one of the various restaurants in the greater Baton Rouge area. Other activities include book clubs, creative cooking, various card and game clubs, as well as social events such as a style show, potlucks, wine tastings, and crafts.
Newcomers Encore also gives back to the community with an Annual Silent Auction fundraiser with proceeds going to local charities, our Caring in the Community group, and other spur-of-the-moment volunteerism.
